KATHMANDU: The winter session of the Federal Parliament is set to begin today (Friday) at 1:00 pm at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwor.
This session, often referred to as the Bill Session, will follow a pre-published agenda from the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
According to Secretariat Spokesperson Ekram Giri, the agenda will include the Speaker reading several letters from the President, including the official declaration of the winter session’s commencement.
As per the procedure, the Speaker will appoint a member to preside over the meeting according to Rule 10 of the House of Representatives Regulation, 2079.
On the first day of the session, lawmakers will share their party’s viewpoints, in line with traditional practices.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will present an ordinance aimed at amending certain Nepal Acts to promote good governance and public service delivery (2081).
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel will introduce several ordinances, including those concerning the Financial Procedure and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment), Privatization (First Amendment), and improvements to the economic and business environment and investment promotion (2081).
Additionally, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, Bal Ram Adhikari, will present ordinances on cooperatives and land management. The Speaker will also present a series of condolence motions.
Furthermore, the Media Council Bill (2080) and a report on the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill (2081) will be discussed in the National Assembly.
