Samsung to manufacture TV in Nepal

Korea’s Samsung TV will be manufactured in Nepal from next year.

The TV will be manufactured in Nepal with the joint investment of Korean multinational company Samsung Electronics and Him Electronics under the Nepali business group Golchha Organization.

The two companies laid the foundation stone of the Samsung TV manufacturing factory to be built on Bhumey Road in Nawalparasi on Wednesday.

Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Dilendra Prasad Badu laid the foundation stone of the factory in a program organized in Nawalparasi.

Shekhar Golchha said that the factory will be put into operation in 2023 with a total investment of 500 million Nepali partner and chairman of Golchha Organization and president of Nepal Confederation of Industry and Commerce.

The capacity of the factory will be to produce 1000 TVs per day. The Nepali factory will also produce TVs up to 85 inches and its panels.

President Golcha said that 300 to 500 women will be employed in the factory that will be operated under the supervision of Samsung South Korea’s technology.
