KATHMANDU: As the pro-monarchy demonstrators continue acts of arson and vandalism across various parts of Kathmandu, the Nepal Army has been deployed on the streets of Tinkune. A Nepali Army team, led by Lieutenant Colonel Sandeep Gurung, has been deployed from the Rajdal Battalion to the Balkumari area.
The Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) has imposed a curfew in the Tinkune area following incidents of vandalism and arson by pro-monarchy demonstrators. The curfew will be in effect from 4 PM to 10 PM this evening.
Following the curfew announcement, Nepali Army personnel were seen patrolling the streets with leading to speculation that a formal military mobilization is underway.
