MUGU: A fire broke out at a hotel inside Rara National Park late last night, causing significant damage.

According to police reports, the fire started around 1 AM at Danphe Hotel, located near Rara Lake in Chhayanath Rara Municipality-9. The hotel is owned by Gopal Bam, a former Member of House of Representatives from the CPN-UML.

Bam was elected as a House of Representatives member in the 2017 elections. Mugu District Police Office’s Information Officer, Inspector Achyutraj Acharya, stated that five structures within the hotel premises were completely destroyed. The Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force worked together to bring the fire under control by 4 AM.

Following the incident, guests staying at the hotel evacuated in a panic. They have been temporarily relocated to nearby hotels and the national park office. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
