SALYAN: Seventeen passengers have been injured in a jeep accident in Salyan. According to the District Police Office, Salyan, a jeep (Bhe 1 Ja 1214) coming from Timile in Kumakh Rural Municipality to Srinagar met with an accident at Gathiana near Phalate in Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality-3 around 10 am on Monday.

All those injured in the accident were immediately rescued and are undergoing treatment at the Sharda Polyclinic in Sharda Municipality-1, Srinagar, informed Resham Bahadur Khatri, Police Inspector of Salyan. According to him, the passenger jeep overturned on the road when the brakes failed and hit a wall.

The driver, Akash Badi, 24, of Sharda Municipality-1, has been taken into custody by the police and further investigation has been initiated.
