KMC sends fine notice to Gyanendra via post

KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah has refused to accept the fine letter sent by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. After his secretariat refused to accept the letter, it was sent by post. His secretariat, Nirmal Niwas, refused to accept the letter regarding the fine issued by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Last Friday, the Metropolitan City had assessed the garbage and vandalism caused during the protest in Tinkune at his instigation and imposed a fine of 793,000 rupees. Metropolitan City Police Superintendent Dinesh Aryal said that the fine letter was sent by post. Today, the municipal police team reached Nirmal Niwas with the fine letter, but he said that the letter was already sent by post after the king refused to accept the fine letter.

On Sunday morning, the Metropolitan City Police team reached Nirmal Niwas gate with the letter. On Friday, a fine of 100,000 rupees was imposed for littering in Koteshwor, Mahadevsthan, Tinkune, Jadibuti area, Sinamangal road and roadside during the royalist protest.A fine of Rs 130,000 has been imposed for breaking the fire engine of the metropolis, Rs 40,000 for vandalizing trees and railings in the Tinkune area, and Rs 23,000 for vandalizing the Tinkune island itself.

Two people died during the protests. Most of the physical structures in the Tinkune area were damaged. The metropolis has sent a letter to Shah imposing fines under various headings, specifying the fine for the damage caused during the royalist protests.
