KATHMANDU: The police have arrested Pradeep Maden, the leader of the ‘No Cable Car Group’. The police arrested him today from Kopche in the district headquarters of Phungling.
Police stated that he was arrested on charges of threatening to kill Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma over the phone on Magh 2 and leading the mob that day. Maden is also the coordinator of the Identity Front Taplejung.
In response to the recent clashes in Pathibhara, a traffic shutdown has been implemented on the Mechi Highway and Tamor Corridor. Short and long-distance traffic on the Mechi Highway has been disrupted due to the shutdown.
