DOTI: One person has died in a mini truck accident in Doti. Police have said that a mini truck accident occurred in Deuthan, Badikedar Rural Municipality-3 at around 12:30 pm today.

The mini truck bearing B.P. 03001 Kha 253, which was collecting rotten wood from the Janajagaran Community Forest and taking it to the nearby Selaneko River for storage, met with the accident.

According to Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Doti, Santosh Gurung, 27, of Deval, Badikedar Rural Municipality-3, died when the vehicle overturned on the roadside. Gurung died on the spot after being crushed by the wood in the truck, while Lok Bahadur Palli Magar, the chairman of the Community Forest, who was also travelling in the same truck, was injured, police said. The injured are being treated at the local health post, Mulichauur, and their condition is moderate, said Prakash Lama, ward member of Badikedar Rural Municipality-3.

Police have said that they are searching for the truck driver, Gopal Badela, 29, of Barchai, Badikedar Rural Municipality-2.
