KATHMANDU: Indigenous peoples in the Pathibhara area of ​​Taplejung staged a protest in Kathmandu on Monday over the issue of cable car construction.

The protest is going on alleging that a private company led by Chandra Dhakal has been allowed to build a cable car in the Pathibhara area without consulting the locals.

A symbolic demonstration was held in Maitighar Mandal in Kathmandu on Monday. The demonstration was accompanied by a play to show the clash that took place in the Pathibhara area on Magh 12.

Four people were injured in a clash between locals and police who had come out to protest the construction of the cable car on Magh 12.

Mukkumlung Tangsepa Chumbo and Mukkumlung Protection Inter-Party Struggle Committee demonstrated against Mukkumlung encroachment in Maitighar. A street play was also shown during the same event.
