KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has awarded six municipalities for their outstanding performance in the past year.

They were awarded on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary Municipality Association of Nepal (MuAN). Prime Minister Oli presented the best award to Thakurbaba Municipality of Bardiya for institutional development, service delivery and financial good governance.

Similarly, Siddharthanagar Municipality of Rupandehi was awarded for urban planning, infrastructure and disaster management, and Kalaiya Sub-municipal Corporation for its excellent work in social development.

The Prime Minister honoured Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, Gaindakot Municipality of Nawalparasi, and Ghodaghodi Municipality of Kailali for environment, culture, tourism promotion and economic development.
