HOOGHLY: Train services were severely disrupted on Thursday morning after an overhead wire broke, bringing daily and office commuters to a standstill. The incident led to the suspension of train services on both the Burdwan and Katwa lines, causing major inconvenience to passengers.

Train operations were halted on both up and down lines between Bandel and Hooghly stations, as well as Bandel and Adi Saptagram stations, leaving commuters stranded for over half an hour. According to railway sources, officials have reached the site, and it is expected to take approximately two hours to restore normal operations.

The disruption has particularly impacted a large number of regular passengers, with halted trains causing widespread delays and frustration.
