15 selected from Dhanusha for 9th National Games

15 athletes from one municipality of Dhanusha have been selected for the 9th national sports competition.

15 players were selected from Mithila municipality of the district. Arun Kumar Mahato, the former president of the local Himalaya Youth Club, informed that one of the 14 selected hockey players was a Kho-Khoka player.

Among the fifteen players, seven are men and eight are women, he said. The players have left for Pokhara this morning.

On the men's side, Umesh Shrestha, Naveen Kumar Mahato, Rupesh Rai, Ajay Kumar Sah, Purushottam Mahato, Ajay Kumar Mahato, Amit Rai are selected for the hockey game.

Similarly, on the women's side, there are Anjalikumari Mahato, Bhumikaumari Mahato, Neerakumari Mahato, Shruti Rai, Aartikumari Mahato, Madhukumari Sah, Prithikumari Mahara and Anjalikumari Sah. Similarly, Rupa Rai has been selected for the Kho-Kho game.

Deputy Head of Mithila Municipality Sunita Singh Budhathoki said that they are very happy that so many athletes from their municipality participated in the national sports competition.

While bidding farewell to the players this morning, he said that the municipality will provide necessary support for the development of the players and sports. Mahato, the former president of the Himalaya Youth Club, said, "There are many players who play sports such as cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, karate, but due to the lack of management and coaches, the players of those sports have not been able to flourish." He said that dozens of players can be produced from here in various sports.
