25 players selected in national football team for SAAF championship

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) said on Monday that three football players were out of closed training in Pokhara.

According to ANFA, head coach Abdullah Almutairi has selected 25 players. Abhishek Rijal, Arpan Karki and Shishir are to leave the team.

The Nepali team is preparing for the SAAF championship in Pokhara. The Championship will be held from October 1 to 16 (September 15 to 30).

Nepal will start the tournament by playing Maldives. The match between Nepal and Maldives will be played on October 1 at the National Football Stadium.

Nepal will play its second match against Sri Lanka on October 4. Nepal will play India in the third match on October 10 (October 24) and Bangladesh in the final match of the league stage on October 13 (October 27). 

The top two teams will compete for the title on October 16 after the league stage of the five-nation tournament. Before the clean championship, Nepal will play two friendly matches with India. The match will be played at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor on September 17 and 20 (September 2 and 5).
