Nepali Army club has won two gold medals while host Gandaki province won one gold medal in the individual event of tennis under the 9th national games underway in the province.
In the final match held today at the tennis court in Pokhara Stadium, NA won gold in mixed doubles and women's doubles, while Gandaki won gold in men's doubles. In women's doubles, Avilasha Bista and Ira Rawat of Nepal Army won gold by defeating Rayna Shah and Prakriti Shrestha of Bagmati in 6-3, 6-4 sets.
Similarly, in mixed doubles, NA's pair of Pranabh Khanal and Avilasha Bista won gold, winning by 6-4, 6-0 sets over Nepal Police's Aryan Giri and Ayesha Dolkar Gurung.
Likewise, in men's doubles, the pair of Pradeep Khadka and Anil Shahi of Gandaki won gold by defeating the pair of Pranabh Khanal and Juven Rawat of the NA in the final. Gandaki won the first set 7-5 and lost the second set 4-6. In the decisive set, Gandaki won the match by 10-8.
In tennis, five gold medals have been decided so far, with the NA winning three while the host Gandaki Province has won two.
The finals of the two remaining categories, men's singles and women's singles, are scheduled to be played on Thursday morning.
