Boxing team led by Sports Minister Gahatraj leaves for Russia

An eight-member team led by Youth and Sports Minister Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj and officials of Nepal Boxing Association has left for Russia today. The Nepali team led by Minister Gahatraj has left for Russia at the invitation of the Boxing Federation of Russia and the Sports Minister of the Russian Federation. The team includes Secretary of the Ministry Damodar Regmi, Head of National Sports Council (NSC) Madhusudan Basnet, Private Secretary to the Sports Minister Roshan Kumar Sunar, President of the Boxing Association Ram Awale, Vice President Arjun Bahadur KC, Member of the Association Man Bahadur Bhandari and Spokesperson and International Relations Coordinator Shyam Kaji Awale. 

During the visit to Russia, various issues will be discussed to cooperate in the development and promotion of sports in both the countries.

Discussions will also be held on exchanging training of Nepali and Russian boxers, assisting in capacity building and enhancement of boxing coaches, organizing and participating in friendly boxing and other sports competitions between Nepal and Russia, and arranging scholarships for Nepali students in Russia's Sports Science College.
