The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) said that they will not immediately start to investigate the allegations against the captain of the national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane. CAN President, Chatur Bahadur Chand said that Sandeep has only been charged and the investigation is still ongoing. "Sandeep has not been confirmed yet, it may be planned, if Sandeep has broken discipline, then legal action should be taken", CAN President Chand said.
He told that he will not suspend Sandeep or take any kind of action until it is legally confirmed. In the complaint lodged with the Metropolitan Police Circle Gaushala, it is alleged that Sandeep, who has Syangja Aruchour as his permanent home and currently lives in Budhanilkanth, Kathmandu, took the girl around to various places in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur on August 5 and brought her to a hotel in Kathmandu on the night of the same day and raped her.
