Ospina saved two shots during the penalty shootout, in which Colombia won 4-2, to eliminate Uruguay from the Copa América and reach the semifinals.

In the match, the 32-year-old goalkeeper made 112 games for the Colombian national team, beating the legendary “Pibe” Valderrama, captain in the 1990, 94 and 98 World Cups.

And he celebrated it by covering a penalty for José María Giménez and another for Matías Viña. For Uruguay, Cavani and Suárez became the series, the veteran stars who had warned that this would be their last Copa América, just like coach Tabárez.

For Colombia, Duván Zapata, Davinson Sánchez, Yerry Mina and Miguel Borja scored.

Uruguay resembled the team that played four games without scoring between the World Cup tie and the first date of the tournament in Brazil - a 1-0 loss to Argentina. The midfielders incurred an excess of lateral and lagging passes, with a total disconnection from the gunner Suárez.

Cavani found himself with a ball inside the area but, about to fall, he threw it out, in a play that was invalidated anyway for offside.

In the second half, the game gained some rhythm but not clarity. Nahitan Nández made a shot-center that was about to enter, if not for the great stretch of Ospina.

Colombia had a clear shot at 71, when Zapata headed a couple of meters from Muslera, who miraculously deflected with a calf. Seven minutes later, the Atalanta attacker threw out another shot with his head.
