EPL: Most points achieved in a single season

Some teams in the Premier League have managed to surpass the points tally of those teams considered one of the best Premier League teams one has ever witnessed. Arsenal's 2003/04 iconic team which managed to remain unbeaten throughout the season couldn't make it into the Top 5 spot. On that note, here are the Top 5 Premier League teams which have the highest number of points in a single Premier League season.

The Centurions

Manchester City's 2017-18 team became the first team to get 100 points in a single season in the history of the Premier League. Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Vincent Kompany were the key players of this iconic Pep Guardiola team. Gabriel Jesus scored in the last minute of the game to clinch the Centurions Title for Manchester City. 

Liverpool-99 points in 2019/20

Liverpool almost managed to become centurions in the 2019/20 season but they fell short by a single point. However, even without the Centurion title Liverpool still walked away with their first Premier League trophy in 30 years. The trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane kept Liverpool in the driver's seat throughout the competition. 

Pep Guardiola's prowess

After becoming the Centurions Pep Guardiola's Manchester City came close to clinching it for the second consecutive season in the 2018/19 season. However, a few bumps kept them off the track from achieving it once again. They ended the season with 98 points. The second consecutive title silenced all the doubters who felt Pep's philosophy would fail in the Premier League. 

Liverpool's misery in 2018/19 season

While Manchester City lifted the title in the 2018/19 season Liverpool fell short by a single point. Manchester City ended the season with 98 points while Liverpool ended their season with 97 points. This season gave birth to a new rivalry in the Premier League. 

Chelsea's 2004/05 supremacy

Chelsea got their highest number of Premier League points tally under Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese managed to showcase some impressive defensive displays throughout the season. They only conceded 15 goals setting Premier League records by a team in a single season.
