Footballer Hari Khadka has been convicted in a case related to fake certificates.

A bench of special court judges Abdul Aziz Musalman and Nityananda Pandey on Thursday ruled that the certificate he had submitted to the Nepal Police for promotion purposes was fake.

It was claimed by the authorities that Khadka was appointed as Assistant Inspector of Police by submitting false proof of proficiency certificate level (PCL) issued by the National Examinations Board.

Khadka was promoted to the post of Deputy Inspector of Police on 29 December, 2002. Khadka played football for the Nepal Police Club from 2003 to 2006. After that, he was the manager of the police team for six years and resigned after a dispute over the certificate.
