Judo players from Kathmandu district of Bagmati province have been selected for the ninth national sports competition.
In the selection competition held at the multi-purpose martial art center in Khushibu, Dahal was selected over Ashish Tamang under 66 kg, Pujan Shrestha and Samrat KC under 66 kg, Sayam Shrestha under 73 kg, Ojas Basnet under 81 kg, Phurwa Sonam Sherpa under 90 kg, Vashishtha Maharjan under 100 kg and Aditya under 100 kg.
Dharmakumar Shrestha informed that women under 57 kg Sanjita Gurung and Vinu Gurung, under 63 kg Sunita Dhakal and Shisam Adhikari and under 78 kg Deepa Gurung were selected.
Similarly, Chandan Shahi, Jairam Maharjan, Kapur Sharma, Umesh Manandhar and Raktachandra Manandhar were selected in table tennis. Ina Dangol, Swarnima Kansakar and Prajna Maharjan were selected among women. Dharmaman Bajracharya, the selection coordinator and president of the Kathmandu District Table Tennis Association, informed that the remaining two players will be selected after the selection.
