The biggest sports competition of the Sherpa community, Khumbu Lhosar Cup Football, Thamechowa Football Club has won a great victory. In the match held on Thursday at the Sano Goucharan sports ground in Kathmandu, Thamechowa defeated Amadablam Football Club by 4-0. From the beginning of the match, Thamechowa maintained its dominance. Lakpa Sonam Sherpa was declared man of the match in the victory of Thamechowa.
Similarly, in the second match, Juving Sherpa Kudik Club won a difficult victory. Juving Sherpa defeated Khumbu Veterans United Club 1-0. The only decisive goal for Juving Sherpa was scored by Mingma Tamang with a free kick, while Darinji Sherpa became the man of the match.
The competition organized by Khumjung Youth Club from Saturday will be conducted till the 18th of February. 8 teams are participating in the competition held at the Sanagoucharan Sports Ground located in Dnyaneshwar, Kathmandu. There will be a total of 15 matches in the tournament which will be held for 8 days. This competition has been organized for the last 12 years on the occasion of Lhosar, the great festival of the Sherpa community.
