The Koshi Province Cricket Association of Nepal and the Morang District Cricket Association will jointly live-broadcast games of the Asia Cup 2023. The live streaming of the matches from Biratnagar, the capital of the province, will be free in collaboration with the World Link Communications Ltd, it has been said.
The venue for the live telecast is the open space before the city police office near the centre mall in Biratnagar, said Suraj Dahal, chief of the World Link Biratnagar branch.
After being qualified for the tournament after winning the ACC Premier CUP five months ago, Nepal are playing their debut matches against cricket's world giants at any format of the Asian Cup.
Under the Asia Cup co-host by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Nepal will face co-hosts Pakistan today at 3:15 pm in the opening match, he said. The venue for the match is Multan Cricket Stadium in Pakistan. Four of the total 13 matches will be held in Pakistan and the rest in Sri Lanka. Six countries from South Asia are participating categorised into two groups. Nepal are placed in Group 'A, along with India and Pakistan while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in Group 'B'.
In their second match, Nepal will play against India on coming 4 September in Sri Lanka. The Nepali team includes Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel, Aasif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Narayan Rajbamshi, Bhim Sarki, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Karan KC, Gulsan Jha, Aarif Sheikh, Sompal Kami, Arjun Saud, Pratish GC, Kishor Mahato, Sandip Jora and Shyam Dhakal.
