The Mountain Sports Conclave has been completed with the commitment to organize the Mountain Sports Games in Nepal in 2024. At the closing ceremony of the two-day mountain sports conclave held in Nagarkot, all the participants made a commitment to organize mountain sports games in Nepal next year.
In the conclave organized by the National Sports Council and in collaboration with the Mountain Sports Federation, Member Secretary Tankalal Ghising presented the concept of Nepal in the Mountain Sports Games project. In the conclave, discussions were held between foreign delegations and embassies on sports promotion, inter-governmental coordination on mountain sports games, branding of the country through sports events, and adventure and tourist sports in the province. Representatives of foreign missions and embassies, member of the National Planning Commission Ramesh Paudel, member secretaries of the Provincial Sports Development Council, officials of the Nepal Olympic Committee, officials of sports associations, representatives of UNESCO, media, tourism, and entrepreneurs' associations participated in the program.
The conclave ended with various announcements.
Representatives of foreign missions and embassies, member of the National Planning Commission Ramesh Paudel, member secretaries of the Provincial Sports Development Council, officials of the Nepal Olympic Committee, officials of sports associations, representatives of UNESCO, media, tourism, and entrepreneurs' associations participated in the program.
At that time, it was agreed to give priority to adventure games, to organize games related to nature, adventure, and culture, and to hold a competition at a venue around 3,000 meters.
The participation of international federations should be made mandatory, the private sector should be allowed to enter, the province and municipality can also be given the responsibility of the project and currently, 4 to 6 sports should be included.
The president of the federation, Gobinda Bhattarai, suggested that the concerned national associations should proceed with the preparation of the competition in an organized manner.
