The second Gandakot Mayor's Cup National T-20 Cricket Tournament-2023 is going to be held in Gaandakot Municipality of Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapurva). The competition is going to be held in the project of Navjagaran Rural Development Center in Gaindakot-9 from this January 26 to next February 1.
President of the center Ramchandra Sapkota informed that the competition was organized with the aim of encouraging new talented players. He said that there is still work to be done on the development of infrastructure including the acquisition of the land for the sports field, and embankment for the protection of the field in the name of the organization.
Mayor Madan Bhakta Adhikari said that the competition will highlight the characteristics of Gandakot. Expressing confidence that the competition will help in the production of national-level players across the country, including Gandakot, the city chief officer promised to provide the necessary support for the competition.
Dhamnath Sapkota, Ward President of Gandakot-9, who is also the director of the competition and also the president of Nawalpur District Cricket Association, said that the competition is a matter of pride for Gandakot. He said that the team was selected based on the neighboring districts affiliated with the Nepal Cricket Association.
The winner of the competition will receive Rs.2 lakh and the runner-up will receive Rs.150,000 along with the title. In the same competition, Man of the Series will get Rs 10,000, Emerging Player Rs 7,000, Best Bats Man, Best Bowler, According to the organizers, the best keeper and the best fielder will be given Rs 5,500 and the man of the match, who will be announced every day, will be given Rs 1,500. Eight teams namely Nawalpur, Tanahun, Kaski, Syangja, Parbat, Baglung, Nawalparasi and Chitwan will participate in the competition.
