Today, Nepal defeated Pakistan in SAFF Championship Football 2023 in Bangalore, India. Ashish Chaudhary scored the goal for Nepal. He has scored his first goal in his first international competition. Ashish Chaudhary of Morang, who played an important role in making the Church Boys team a league winner, was a laborer and tractor helper in the past.
Even though both Pakistan and Nepal were eliminated from the group stage, there was one match left today.
The match between Nepal and Pakistan was in a tie until the half-time without any goals from either side. The first half was sluggish. Neither side could make much of a move. The Nepali players who were given the responsibility of forwards could not play their proper role. Nepal's Bimal Gharti Magar could not convert an important opportunity into a goal.
Nepal's game seemed to improve after the interval. But it didn't seem to be put to good use. Pakistan also made good moves.
