India has won the SAFF Championship for the 8th time now.

In the finals held in Maldives' capital Male, yesterday, India defeated Nepal with a score of 3-0. Indian team's captain Sunil Chhetri, Suresh Singh Wangjam, and Sahal Abdul Samal scored for the team.

Nepal reached the finals, which itself is historic but couldn't give its best performance in the finals. The Nepali team was nervous after India scored two goals.

Anjan Bista was missed in today's game due to his suspension. Likewise, Nepali team's coach Abdul Al Mutari had to observe the game from the audience aisle as he too was suspended.

Nepal has secured the 1st runner up position in the SAFF Championship 2021.
