KATHMANDU: The Nepal Premier League (NPL) will begin today with a match between Biratnagar Kings and Janakpur Bolts at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
The tournament, organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), features eight franchise teams.
On December 2, Kathmandu Gurkhas will play against Chitwan Rhinos, while Karnali Yaks will face the Bolts later in the day.
The following day, December 3, Sudurpaschim Royals will take on the Kings, and Pokhara Avengers will compete against the Rhinos.
Lumbini Lions will start their campaign on December 4 with a match against the Kings.
The top four teams from the round-robin league will qualify for the playoffs. The top two teams will meet in Qualifier 1, with the winner securing a direct spot in the final.
The third and fourth-ranked teams will face off in the Eliminator. Both Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator are scheduled for December 18.
The loser of Qualifier 1 will get another chance to reach the final, facing the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2 on December 19.
The winner of Qualifier 2 will secure the final spot in the championship match, set for December 21.
