A Nepali judo team has left here today for Thailand to take part in the Asian Cadet and Junior Judo Championship going to take place there from July 17-23.
National Sports Council ( NSC) member-secretary Tankalal Ghishing bade farewell to the eight-member team that comprises four players and wished for its successful participation in the event.
On the occasion, the NSC member secretary urged players to participate in the match confidently.
Uttam Pradhan Shrestha (men, junior, under 60 kgs), Devaki Maya Shrestha ( women under 52 kgs), Tara Bahadur Bhujel (men, Cadet, under 55 kgs) and Nisha Shrestha (under 48 kgs) will represent Nepal in the event. Devaki and Nisha are biological sisters.
Deepak Harsh Bajracharya, chair of Nepal Judo Association and education and coaching commission member, Judo Union of Asia joins the team as its leader while Dawa Gyaljen is the team manager and Deepak Shrestha is the coach.
