Patan Premier League: The title goes to Kalpal

The first edition of Patan Premier League (PPL) cricket held in Patan, Baitadi has been won by Kailpal Cricket Club Jurg. In the final match, Kailpal stunned Patan Cricket Club by four runs to clinch the title.

This is the fifth consecutive title of Kailpal. Earlier, Baitadi and Darchula have won various competitions. Kailpal, who won the toss and elected to bat first, was bowled out for 170 in 18.3 overs. In which Mukesh Chand and Raju Bhat scored maximum 23 runs each.

 Dipendra Chand of Patan took 4 wickets. After overcoming the target of 171 runs at the Krishna Mavic ground, Patan lost 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and managed to add only 166 runs. Pankaj Chand contributed 55 runs for Patan but could not overcome the defeat. Kailpal's Mukesh Chand took 3 wickets. He was also named Man of the Final by scorer Kiran Chand.

Along with the title, Kailpal received 55,555 and Patan 22,222 cash along with trophy, medal and certificate.

Similarly, Vikas  of Patan became the best player and best batsman. Dipendra Chand of Patan became the best bowler. The best player got Rs 3,333 and the best bowler and best batsman got a trophy medal and certificate along with Rs 1,111 in cash.

The winners and runners-up were awarded prizes by Damodar Bhandari, Member of the House of Representatives from Baitadi and Keshav Bahadur Chandal, Chief of Patan Municipality. Fifteen teams participated in the competition organized by Patan Cricket Club. President of Patan Cricket Club, Paras Bista, said that the tournament will be continued in the coming year to make it more grand and civilized.
