Thakuri appointed FICTS Ambassador for Nepal

Nepalgunj Marathon's Founder T.S Thakuri has been appointed as FICTS Ambassador for Nepal.

In a bid to further propagate the essence of sportsmanship and Olympic values across the globe, the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (FICTS), based in Milan, Italy, has set its sights on broadening its scope of activities in various countries. Recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for its dedication to promoting the values of sport through visual media, FICTS aims to extend its reach to 130 nations worldwide.

Championed by its Chairman, a distinguished Member of the IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Heritage, FICTS endeavors to reinforce its mission of fostering respect, fair play, friendship, and solidarity within the 'Olympic Family.' In a significant move towards achieving this goal, FICTS has appointed individuals of eminent stature to serve as its ambassadors in different countries.

In light of the upcoming Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in Milano Cortina in 2026, FICTS is keen to establish a robust presence in various regions. As part of this initiative, Mr. Thakuri is invited to become part of the "FICTS Family" and represent the Federation officially in Nepal too.

In a letter addressed to Mr. Thakuri, the Executive Committee of FICTS announced the appointment to serve as key liaison between the Federation and Nepal.

Expressing gratitude for the appointment, Mr. Thakuri commented, "It is an honor to be appointed as the FICTS Ambassador for my country. I am eager to contribute to the promotion of Olympic values and sportsmanship on a global scale."

With this strategic expansion and the appointment of dedicated ambassadors, FICTS aims to strengthen its presence globally and further its mission of promoting the values of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and fair play, ultimately contributing to a more united and inclusive Olympic community.
