Tribhuvan Army Football Club has entered the final of the Jhapa Gold Cup. In today's competition, Army defeated Satdobato Youth Club 4-1 to reach the final.
Suman Aryal, Santosh Tamang and Tek Bahadur Budhathoki scored for the Army. Satdobato was able to return only one goal. Suman scored on a free kick by Santosh Tamang in the 27th minute. Satdobato scored in extra time in the first half. Deepak Raj Singh Thakuri scored for Sushil Rai. Army added three goals in the second half. Santosh Tamang of the Army scored in the 60th minute to make it 2-1. In the 80th minute, Tek Bahadur Budhathoki scored a goal in the header of Navayug Shrestha and made a wide difference with Satdobato. In the 84th minute, Tek Bahadur scored the second individual goal and the fourth for the team. He scored on a pass from Kamal Bahadur Thapa.
Satdobato, who lost a star player, could not make any moves against the Army in the allotted 90 minutes. In the 53rd minute, Satdobato scorer Deepak Raj Singh Thakuri's hard shot was saved by the opposition goalkeeper Vikesh Kuthu.
The Army created more than a dozen opportunities in the game. Army's Deepak Gurung's shot was fired in the sixth minute. In the 15th minute, Santosh Tamang's shot from the penalty area was wasted and Army was denied the opportunity to take the lead. In the 25th minute, Tek Bahadur Budhathoki's header was saved by opposition goalkeeper Abhishek Baral. In the 41st minute, Tank Basnet's shot hit the post and came back. In the 58th minute, Santosh Tamang's shot hit the first bar and came back.
The last semi-final match on Saturday will be between Jhapa-11 Football Club and Sankata Club. The Army will now compete in the final with the winner on Saturday. The Army has entered the final for the fourth time in a row.
