Additional tourism infrastructures have been developed along the world's famous Mardi mountain trekking route.

In a bid to provide facilities for domestic and foreign tourists, tourism infrastructures have been constructed on the route from Pokhara metropolis-25, Melbot to Astam of Machhapuchhre rural municipality.

Physical Infrastructure such as trekking routes, parks, and railing was developed under the 'one electoral constituency, one tourism infrastructure' of the Gandaki province last year.

A plan was floated last year to construct the Melbot-Jhijhirka-Astam-Dhital-Dhampus-Mardi mountain trekking route and park construction.

There is a plan to develop a trekking route from Melbot to Astam, Dhital, Dhampus, Pritam Deurali, Dhital Lwang, and Ghalel Kalimati to connect Mardi mountain.

It may be noted that the Gandaki province government had allocated a budget of Rs 2.5 million last year. It was spent on developing tourism infrastructure and different physical structures, informed coordinator of Melbot-Astam-Dhital-Dhampus-Mardi mountain route construction committee Biswo Adhikari.

He further shared that a 300-meter slate-placed path, 311-meter railing side wall, four waiting stands, and ponds were constructed.
