An aircraft of the National flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), en route to Dammam of Saudi Arabia from Kathmandu, had to return to Kathmandu midway due to technical problems.
According to Tribhuvan International Airport's Director General Pratap Babu Tiwari, the aircraft (RA 412) took off from TIA at 12:14 am today and returned to Kathmandu at 4:51 am. It reported technical issues with its 'Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS)' as it reached Pakistan, prompting the crew members to divert the flight back to Kathmandu.
The TCAS system provides an alert to avoid potential risks when another aircraft comes nearby during the flight operation.
Airport authorities have assured that alternative arrangements will be made for the passengers on RA 412 to ensure they reach their destinations.
