Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, has taken steps to reduce the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF). He held a meeting on Thursday with concerned authorities and directed them to reduce the price of ATF.
Minister Dhakal held discussions with Tourism Secretary Yadav Prasad Koirala; Secretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industries Dinesh Bhattarai, Managing Director of Nepal Oil Corporation Surendra Kumar Paudel; Director-General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Rajan Pokhrel; and Managing Director of Nepal Airlines Corporation Dim Prasad Poudel and asked them to reduce the price of aviation turbine fuel.
The minister mentioned that he believes that the current price of ATF is high and it needs to be reduced. He also said that when the price of ATF is reduced the demand will rise and there will be a need for more storage capacity. In this regard, he directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to coordinate in making sufficient land available to build storage plants for aviation turbine fuel.
