With the arrival of spring, the tourism business in Nepal has started to flourish again. Tourists from different countries have started arriving in the country again. The limited influx of tourists is also expected to help alleviate some of Nepal's tourism business, which has been devastated by the coronavirus.

Gopal Thapa is the newly elected chairperson of Village Tourism Promotion Forum VITOF Nepal. In conversation with NepalNews, he informed that a team of tourists from France has arrived in Kathmandu today for the purpose of trekking to the Everest base camp through his company. He also informed us that a team of Indian tourists who had come for a religious tour to Muktinath Temple in Mustang District was returning to Kathmandu today. At present, the number of tourist arrivals at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu is limited.

Tourists are also flocking to Thamel, a major tourist destination in Nepal. These include tourists, especially those who have come for mountaineering and trekking to various mountainous areas. With such activities, Nepali tourism businessmen have started showing enthusiasm again.

Similarly, the number of domestic tourists visiting various places in Nepal is also increasing, said Vitof Nepal.

Currently, tourism targeted activities have started in more than 100 villages of Nepal. The facilities in the home stays in these villages are also being increased as compared to the past. VITOF Nepal aims to promote tourism in three villages of Nepal every year. The Government of Nepal's provision of 10 days leave to government employees to visit various tourist destinations in Nepal is also expected to help in rural tourism in Nepal.

Gopal Thapa, the newly elected chairman of VITOF Nepal, informed that VITOF aims to expand its branches in all the provinces of Nepal during its tenure.
