In Kathmandu Constituency No. 5, Nepali Congress member of the House of Representatives (HoR) candidate Pradeep Poudel has won. Paudel was elected to the post of parliament for the first time after defeating CPN (UML) Senior Vice President Ishwar Pokharel.

Out of 45 987 votes cast in Kathmandu 5, Paudel won by getting 15237 votes. His nearest rival Pokharel of UML has got 10, 172 votes.
