Ishwari Neupane has filed nomination for Speaker from Nepali Congress.

The proponents of her candidacy are Bishwa Prakash Sharma of the Congress and Prakash Jwala of the United Samajwadi Party.

She is supported by Congress, United Socialist Party, and the Democratic Socialist Party.

Earlier, CPN-UML MP Devraj Ghimire had registered his candidature for the Speaker’s post.
