The direct flight from Mumbai, India to Kathmandu, which was postponed due to the Covid-19 epidemic, will be resumed. The Mumbai-Kathmandu flight will be launched as soon as the covid infection rate decreases.

Indigo Air, India's private sector airline, has set a date for flights from Mumbai to Kathmandu from March 2. The company will fly three days a week on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The company is currently operating one daily flight on the Delhi-Kathmandu route.

The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Airlines) is also preparing to resume flights on the Kathmandu-Mumbai route soon. Yubaraj Adhikari, executive chairman of the corporation, said that the corporation was preparing to operate a flight to Kathmandu-Mumbai. He said, "IndiGo Air will resume flights. We (Nepal Airlines) have also made all preparations on our behalf to fly to this destination. We will resume flights with the permission of the Indian side."

Before the Covid epidemic, Nepal Airlines was operating regular flights to Mumbai destinations. Although the flight was planned before the start of the third wave of Covid, the flight plan was postponed due to the epidemic. During the epidemic period, Nepal Airlines, the national flag carrier of Nepal, and Air India, the national flag carrier of India, were operating regular flights as per the Air Bubble Agreement.

Although Nepal Airlines has been flying directly to three destinations in India, New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, it has not been able to fly to Mumbai and Bangalore for two years due to the epidemic. Nepal Airlines has been operating international flights to nine destinations in seven countries, including three in India.
