Traffic fines can now be paid through QR codes in Kathmandu valley. The Traffic Police Office has launched the 'QR Scan Pay Fine and Withheld Document' facility for the convenience of drivers violating traffic rules.
Launched on Thursday in collaboration with Kumari Bank Limited, the service was jointly launched by the Office Chief, Senior Superintendent of Police Umesh Raj Joshi, and the Bank's Digital Chief Anish Tamrakar.
People will no longer have to search for a bank to pay the fine or wait in line at the bank for hours when the service is launched, said Joshi. He said that the traffic police have been increasing the use of new technology in traffic management to make it more convenient, simple, fast, and reliable for common road users.
Tamrakar expressed his commitment to provide more facilities to the citizens through this arrangement and to continue cooperating with the traffic police for more accessible and excellent service in the days to come.
