About 1.2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have arrived from China. Dr Surendra Chaurasia, head of the supply management center of the health service department, informed that 1.184 million vaccines of Vero Cell have been received today with the loan assistance of the Asian Development Bank.
Nepal has received 4,387,927 doses of vaccines including Vero Cell, Covishield, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson.
The government has so far vaccinated 26,450,210 doses since the start of the vaccination campaign. Of these, 76.2 percent have received one dose and 56.4 percent have received full dose of vaccination. Similarly, 49.9 percent of the total population has been vaccinated with one dose and 37 percent with the full dose.
Coronavirus infection has been on the rise for the past few days. Experts are also suggesting vaccinations to prevent any new infections.
The government has planned to give additional dose of the Vero Cell vaccine by determining the target group from next January.
