The Grandee International Hospital has so far successfully undertaken kidney transplantation in 103 patients since it initiated the service in July 2016.
Organizing a programme on Friday, the Hospital shared the information and also honoured the doctors and nurses directly involved in delivering the service.
On the occasion, Hospital Chairperson Engineer Deepak Kunwar said through kidney transplantation was a challenging task in Nepal it was a laudable achievement to successfully undertake transplantation in over 100 patients.
Nepal Kidney Transplantation Centre Chief Prof Dr Bholaraj Joshi stressed the need to increase the number of people donating kidneys.
Recalling the first successful kidney transplantation in the country first time in 2008, he shared kidney transplantation has been so far performed on 1,500 patients across the country.
Hospital's Medical Director Dr Binod Bijukchhe informed that although 103 successful transplant cases were performed, two of the patients died of Pneumonia, two of coronavirus infection and one of high blood pressure.
