Locals get benefits from yoga training

The general public has benefited from the two-day lifestyle change and yoga training in Galkot Municipality-7 Malma.

More than 100 participants participated in the training conducted under the slogan 'Adopt Ayurvedic Lifestyle and 48 Minutes of Yoga Daily, Stay Healthy, Prevent and Control Disease'. The training was organized by Dhawalagiri Ayurveda Dispensary in collaboration with the local Ghumte Youth Family.

Roy taught the practice and method of various asanas of yoga. On the occasion, Dr. Roy said that yoga science is fruitful for keeping a person physically and mentally healthy. He said that human life would be healthy, happy and blissful only if the mind, soul and body could be connected through yoga, meditation and sadhana.

Senior citizens were more involved in the training. Ayurvedic medicines used for high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease were also distributed to the participants. Chairman of the Ghumte Youth Family, Thamman Thapa, said that the yoga training was given with the objective of helping in reducing the physical and mental health problems of the people due to unhygienic diet, stress and anxiety.

The training camp was financially supported by Tulvir Thapa, former vice president of the organization and member of Nepal Volleyball Association Japan. Lalita Thapa, a member of the dispensary management committee, said that the training is planned to be conducted in the district as a campaign to make the general public aware about the importance of Ayurveda along with yoga. The ward office coordinated the training locally.
