The House of Representatives, Industry and Commerce and Labor and Consumer Affairs Committee has directed the Department of Foreign Employment to immediately refund the amount paid by the youths who have been cheated in the name of foreign employment.
The committee has given the instruction to the department while discussing the complaint of Sterling Overseas Pvt.
The committee has also directed to blacklist the manpower companies that charge more than the stipulated fee and do not even send them abroad. The committee has also directed the department to send the details of the action taken against the manpower company. The committee has urged to make the 'labor desk' at Tribhuvan International Airport effective.
During the discussion, Director General of the Department Shesh Narayan Poudel said that the complaints of the youths would be immediately investigated and their money would be refunded. Thirteen youths, including Suraj Rana, had lodged a complaint with the committee alleging that the manpower had sent them abroad for employment and had not sent them back.
