The Ministry of Water Resources and Energy Development of Karnali Province has said that 821 schemes have been completed in one year. This data was made public in the review program conducted by the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers. Acting Secretary of the Ministry Gopal Sharma informed that 821 schemes out of 2,725 schemes have been completed. 147 plans for drinking water are being worked on through multi-year contracts, 74 sequential plans are being worked on for completion in this financial year and seventy three new plans are being implemented this year.
Similarly, four plans are complementary. 12 multi-year, successive 273 and new 55 plans for irrigation are in operation this year. There are 25 schemes for public irrigation and 10 schemes for institutional development of irrigation. Minister of Water Resources and Energy Development Ganesh Prasad Singh informed that out of 129 schemes, 53 schemes have been completed in the previous year.
Similarly, two multi-year plans are being worked on in 10 districts for embankment and landslide management. Similarly, he said that 67 plans are in progress and most of them will be completed this year. Out of 27 new schemes in the current year, there is one supplementary scheme. There are a total of 12, including two for multi-year embankment, 12 for irrigation, and eight for drinking water. Similarly, there are eight plans for drinking water. One hundred and fifty five new schemes are going to be implemented this year. Minister Singh informed that 74.83 percent of the development work was done from the budget allocated in the previous year. In Surkhet, irrigation facilities have reached 400 hectares of land. According to the ministry, 300 hectares in Dailekh, 217 in Jumla, 165 in Calikot, 370 in Salyan, 230 in Rukum, 113 in Jajarkot, 140 in Humla, 147 in Dolpa, and 120 hectares in Mugu have been provided.
Similarly, the land that has been raised due to river control works is 136 hectares. 22 hectares in Surkhet, five in Dailekh, seven in Jumla, four in Kalikot, 40 in Salyan, 17 in Rukum, 19 in Jajarkot, six in Humla, seven in Dolpa and nine in Mugu. Similarly, 54 thousand 917 people got drinking water in the previous year. Similarly, it has been informed that an amount of Rs. 12 million is unaccounted for. 1 crore 68 lakh 78 thousand to be recovered, 9 crore 89 lakh 26 thousand for regular and 1 crore 32 lakh 55 thousand of advance. The areas that need to be recovered the most are Mugu, Humla and Surkhet. It has been found that there is no undue amount to be recovered in Salyan and Dailekh. .
