Nepali Congress candidate has been elected for the post of chairman and vice-chairman of Hupsekot village municipality of Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat-Susta). In Hupsekot, which has six wards, Congress candidates have been elected for the post of village chairman and vice-chairman.
According to District Election Officer Lal Prasad Sharma, Congress candidate Laxmidevi Pandey has been elected as the chairperson. She had been elected chairman before. Pandey was elected with 6,455 votes while her rival Chet Bahadur Rana of the CPN (UML) got 5,741 votes.
Congress' Purna Singh Rana has been elected as the Vice President. While Rana got 6,705 votes, his rival Mani Pandey of UML got 5,738 votes.
