Construction of 132 KV substation has started in Dandakhet of Malika Gaonpalika-7 of Myagdi. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has started construction of transmission line from Dandakhet to Raghuganga Rural municipality-3 Amwang and substation in both places.

Ward Chairman of Malika-7, Resham Jugjali, informed that land reclamation work has started to build a substation in Dandakhet. "In the first phase, the fence and the building have been constructed," he said. "Land reclamation is being done to house the substation equipment" he added. On December 31, 2021, a contract was signed with Indian company Larsen & Toubro (LNT) for construction of substation and transmission line.

Project Chief Roshan Agrawal said that the contractor has started the construction of the infrastructure at the initial stage after completing the design as per the agreement. The contract period of the project is 30 months. Transmission lines and substations are being constructed to connect the electricity generated by the hydropower projects under construction to the central transmission line in the western region of Myagdi and the rivers flowing through the central geography of Myagdi and Rahughat.

Ninety towers of double circuit transmission line of 12 kV capacity with a distance of 25 km will be constructed. The Dandakhet substation will be equipped with 133/33 KV, 30 MVA capacity and AIS technology equipment. Similarly, the 220 ÷ 132/33 KV, 200 MVA capacity equipment will be connected to Rahughat substation with GIS technology, said Project Chief Agrawal.

The transmission line and substation are being constructed with the loan assistance of the Asian Development Bank. The initial stage of infrastructure had been built by acquiring 51 ropanis of land four years ago and about 90 ropanis of land in Ambang of Rahughat to build a substation in Dandakhet. In both the places, land management, fencing, access road as well as guard and staff housing building have been constructed in Dandakhet. Four 172.8 MW capacity hydropower projects are under construction on the Myagdi River.

Two projects have started construction of infrastructure on the Myagdi River flowing from the base of Mount Dhaualagiri. Two more projects are preparing to build infrastructure by raising investment. With the preparation of construction of transmission line connecting substation and Rahughat, the promoters who have taken permission have become active.
