Senior leader of CPN UML Jhalanath Khanal has been taken to New Delhi for further treatment. Khanal, who had been receiving treatment at Norvic International Hospital in Thapathali, flew to Delhi at 12:45 pm today on a Nepal Airlines Corporation flight. Krishna Bhattarai, private secretary to leader Khanal, informed that Khanal would be admitted to Apollo Hospital and his treatment would be started immediately after he is admitted.
General-Secretary of CPN UML Ishwor Pokhrel visited Khanal at Norvic this morning and wished him a speedy recovery. During the conversation, Khanal urged Pokhrel to focus on the unity of the party.
Meanwhile, Norvic Hospital has informed that
Khanal’s health condition was stable during his treatment at the hospital. Khanal had been admitted to Norvic on June 14 after complaining of chest pain. He was also suffering from fever and lethargy.
As per the hospital, water had accumulated on Khanal’s lungs hence he was having problems with oxygen supply in his body. Dr Brajendra Srivatsava, who was involved in Khanal’s treatment in Norvic, mentioned that his fever had also not declined as expected and infection was detected in
Khanal’s blood and urine.
