Four different mountains; Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, and Manaslu are currently being cleaned under the leadership of the Nepal Army.
About 13,781 kg of garbage has been collected from the four mountains in a period of one month. 1,513 kg of the garbage is biodegradable while the remaining 12,268 kg is non-biodegradable. A total of 4,968 kg of garbage has been collected from Mt. Everest and Mt Lhotse. Similarly, a total of 5,949 kg of garbage has been collected in Kanchenjunga and 2,864 kg of garbage in Mt. Manaslu.
Mountain sanitation has been organized with the objective of protecting biodiversity and preserving the environment. Nepal Army and service providers are working hard in this regard.
Earlier, under the leadership of the Nepal Army, the cleaning of Mount Everest and other mountains has been carried out several times.
