Chief of Lumbini Province Amik Sherchan has said the elected people’s representatives should ensure public service delivery for the betterment of people’s livelihood.
He urged the people’s representatives to fully abide by the constitution, moving ahead with the spirit of cooperation and coexistence by following the rights given by the constitution to the local, province and federal governments.
During an interaction programme and felicitation to the newly-elected people’s representatives of the local levels in Kapilvastu on Saturday, Province Chief Sherchan urged the people’s representatives to work by respecting the people’s mandate.
On the occasion, Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Kul Prasad KC asked the people’s representatives of 109 local levels of the province to work for the massive transformation of the people’s livelihood through coordination.
Likewise, KC suggested that the people’s representatives should develop their plans based on the priorities of the people’s basic needs and allocate budget accordingly.
Speaker of Lumbini Province Assembly Purna Bahadur Gharti and expert on federalism Khimlal Devkota also shared their views.
Also speaking at the programme, former chief secretary of the government Leelamani Paudyal said the local levels should work in line with the spirit of federalism.
