United States states to continue the development partnership with Nepal. United States, the second oldest external partner in Nepal's development, has expressed satisfaction with the existing bilateral relations and its readiness to cooperate.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the US, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrote on social media saying "Nepal has undergone unparalleled changes in its governance, economic development and international engagement. We are proud of our achievements as partners and look forward to decades of friendship.”
"As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Nepal-US diplomatic relations, Nepal reiterates its commitment to deepen the long-standing friendship and cooperation between our two countries," the State Department wrote on social media in response to Foreign Minister Blinken's remarks.
US Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry congratulated all the Nepalese and Americans on social media as well. "Nepal's diplomatic relations with the United States began in 1947 this week. Our friendship is based on mutual respect, democratic values and sovereignty, ”he wrote.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Brooks, Vice President of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) paid a courtesy call to Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka. During the meeting, the two discussed issues related to the implementation of the MCC project in Nepal, including economic benefits, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
